Here is an example of the rhodadendron which are native to Pennsylvania. The weather today is bright and sunny but cool. One has to put on a jacket as it is in the 50's.

It is Sunday daddy and me want to sleep in.

Here is a spectacular view of Warren Pa from Washington Park. Today it feels like Summer with temperatures in the low eighties. Only a handful of days left until vacation. I need it badly!

A very talented senior in our school produced this wonderful art. He even showed up in drag with a silver skirt and blonde hair. For this conservative town I give him credit for being brave to be who he is.

A cake for Jillian on her twenty third birthday.

the babies

I spent the weekend at the house in Niagara Falls. The stoic mama bird has been sitting on her eggs for a few weeks.
Finally her little family arrived and here they are. We snapped the picture while she was out getting worms for food. We've been watching her feed them. The mercury is dipping to an unseasonable 30 degrees tonight. Her warm body keeps them warm as they are virtually hairless. Nature is incredible!

a new life in the works!

This weekend, Robert and I were back in Niagara Falls, only to discover that one of our rather kitsch plastic planters on the porch had been newly occupied by a new family of robins who have laid eggs and were guarding them with their lives. The father and mother have been taking turns sitting on the sky-blue eggs. Once they realized we would not harm them, they shared the space on the porch with us without even fleeing in fear. We even had friends over and sat on the porch.

The birds sat motionless like wax figures. It's remarkable how the Lord had made these creatures to be so creative in building their little round nests, taking care of them and nurturing their future families. I cannot imagine harming them or disturbing the nests in any way, as many people would do out of disgust because of their "unsanitary" droppings.

I am like a little child all excited over the new family to be.

Obie is stoned

It is good to be back blogging. Obie is stoned after being on his corrugated catnip scratch box, which he adores, by the way. You get an idea from looking at his eyes. The picture may not be the best as it was taken on a phone.

School is almost done! Fantastic! As I write this, I have 18 days left! Exams have kept me busy for sure! I will be living in Niagara Falls, NY most of the time and Warren, PA. I hope to do some traveling to Canada and also a bit around NY State.
